Named one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies five years in a row, we bring brands closer to their audiences with bold ideas and cutting-edge executions.
If you’re passionate about transforming ideas into impactful narratives, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and are eager to make a difference, we want you on our team!
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Video Production Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and creative leader with a passion for crafting engaging video and photography content. In partnership with Operatic’s Creative Director, as well as an additional Sr. Video Production Specialist, you will take a lead role in the full video production lifecycle—from concept development and pre-production planning to execution and post-production—ensuring high-quality results aligned with client objectives and business goals.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, with expertise in directing, shooting, editing, and post-production. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative directors, designers, copywriters, and account managers, to deliver innovative and impactful media content that drives engagement and supports our clients’ strategies.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and creative leader with a passion for crafting engaging video and photography content.
What you’ll do:
- Creative Vision & Strategy – You understand how to translate brand objectives into compelling stories, with a sharp sense of audience engagement, visual composition, and narrative flow. You bring the ability to conceptualize projects, develop treatments, and align creative ideas with broader marketing strategies
- Pre-Production Planning – You’re skilled at building the blueprint for successful shoots—crafting storyboards, scripts, and shot lists that bring clarity to creative direction. You scout and secure locations, plan technical requirements, coordinate logistics, and ensure all moving parts are aligned before the camera rolls
- Production Mastery – You excel at all aspects of on-set and in-studio production: directing talent, optimizing lighting, capturing pristine visuals and audio, and adapting to diverse locations and conditions. Your technical expertise ensures content is both visually striking and strategically on point
- Post Production Excellence – You bring high end editing skills, from advanced colour grading and seamless transitions to motion graphics and sound design. You’re comfortable integrating new technologies—like AI-assisted editing—to elevate polish, efficiency, and storytelling impact
- Photography Expertise – Beyond motion, you capture still imagery that enhances brand storytelling, from commercial campaigns to lifestyle content. Your eye for composition, mastery of lighting, and professional-grade editing skills ensure consistency and quality across formats
- Innovation & Emerging Tech – You stay ahead of the curve on video production trends, AI, automation, and virtual production techniques. You experiment with and adopt new tools that expand creative possibilities and drive efficiency
- Leadership & Performance Optimization – You thrive in leading projects from start to finish, balancing creativity with organization. You mentor junior talent, foster collaboration, and use performance data and audience analytics to refine creative decisions. You’re also seen as a thought leader—comfortable sharing insights at industry events or through published content
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 8+ years of experience in video production, either in-house, at an agency, or in a freelance capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree in film production, digital media, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Expert-level proficiency in video editing software, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom), and industry-standard production tools.
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-caliber video and photography projects, demonstrating expertise in storytelling, cinematography, and post-production.
- Experience managing production teams, freelancers, and external vendors, ensuring high-quality execution on projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and sell creative ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
- A track record of thriving in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines, and delivering exceptional results
